SACRAMENTO – The Cañada College women's soccer team picked up its first win of the season, a narrow 1-0 victory at Cosumnes River College on Friday.
Mia Obando recorded a game-high 6 shots in the contest and found the back of the net in the 77th minute for the game's lone goal that proved to be the game-winner.
Cosumnes River outshot Cañada by a 16-8 margin but Colts' goalkeeper Elisabeth Bray was up to the challenge. She totaled 5 saves and combined with Clair Floro for the shutout.
The win improved Cañada to 1-2-1 overall. The Colts return to action next Friday (Sep. 12) when they host American River College in a 4 p.m. non-conference game.
