Colts extend unbeaten streak to 13 with 3-0 win over Las Positas
REDWOOD CITY – The Cañada College women's soccer team continued its impressive surge towards the postseason. On Friday, the Colts extended their unbeaten streak to 13 games thanks to a 3-0 Coast Conference South Division victory over visiting Las Positas College.
Cañada hasn't lost since August 30 and improved to 12-2-3 overall. The Colts hold a firm grip on first place in the Coast South standings at 6-0-1 with Foothill (2-3-1) and West Valley (2-4-0) trailing.
On Friday, three different Colts scored as part of the win. Cañada got goals from Maeve Lynch, Ryann Leyte-Vidal, and Ruby Rodrigues.
Elisabeth Bray was solid once again in goal for the Colts in helping lead her squad to its 11th shutout of the season. Cañada has outscored its opponents 33-8 this season and allowed just one goal over seven games in the month of October.
Earlier in the week on Tuesday, the Colts battled Coast Conference North Division-leader City College of San Francisco to a 1-1 draw on the road. The tie snapped a six-game winning streak.
Paige Floro scored the Colts' lone goal off the assist from Rodrigues while Bray posted six saves.
Cañada has just three regular-season games left on the schedule. The Colts are back in action on November 4 when they travel to De Anza College for a Coast Conference South Division game at 3 p.m.
