REDWOOD CITY – The No. 9 state-ranked Cañada College women's soccer team ran its winning streak to five games while extending its unbeaten streak to 10 after a 2-0 win over visiting Evergreen Valley College on Tuesday.
The Colts haven't lost a game since August, 1-0 setback to Long Beach City College in Ventura. Tuesday's Coast Conference win improved Cañada to 10-2-2 overall while the Colts lead the Coast South Division at 4-0-0.
Cañada opened the scoring with a goal by Ryann Leyte-Vidal off the assist from Maeve Lynch. Ruby Rodriguez clinched the victory with her goal.
The Colts once again played solid defense in posting its fifth straight shutout and 10th of the season. Cañada has allowed just seven goals so far this season while scoring 28 of its own.
The Colts will look to keep the momentum going on Friday (Oct. 17) when they travel to Chabot College for a 4 p.m. Coast Conference interdivision game.
