REDWOOD CITY – The Cañada College women's soccer team posted its fourth shutout of the season with a big 3-0 win over visiting American River College on Friday.
The second straight shutout for the Colts improved their record to 3-2-1 overall.
Cañada got goals from three different players. Victoria Pena gave the Colts and early 1-0 lead when she scored in the 3rd minute. And Ryann Leyte-Vidal sent to Colts into halftime with a 2-0 advantage after her goal in the 41st minute off the assist from Mia Obando.
Camila Arellano sealed the victory with the Colts' final goal in the 51st minute.
The goalkeeper duo of Elisabeth Bray and Kira Bondi combined for the shutout. Both had 1 save each in 45 minutes of action.
Cañada returns to the field next Friday (Sep. 19) at 5 p.m. when the Colts host Modesto Junior College in a non-conference game.
