Bio

Michael Golden joins the Cañada College coaching staff as an Assistant Coach, returning to the program where he played from 2015–2017 and earned Goalkeeper of the Year and All-State honors before transferring to Sacramento State to compete for their club program.

After college, Michael spent seven years at Tesla, where he specialized in building systems, streamlining operations, and leading diverse teams under high-pressure environments. Wanting to apply those skills in the sports world in a way he found more rewarding, he transitioned back into coaching, serving as an Assistant Coach at The Buckley School and as a Goalkeeper Coach with the LA Bulls Soccer Club in Los Angeles.

In 2025, Michael returned to the Bay Area to rejoin Peninsula Soccer Club — where he also grew up playing — while stepping into his new role with Cañada. A native of Germany, his coaching philosophy reflects both his international roots and his belief in soccer as a platform for growth beyond the field. He is completing his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management at Southern New Hampshire University, with graduation expected in December 2025, and currently resides in San Jose, California.
