Bio

Coach Erik Gaspar has been leading the Cañada College Colts as Head Coach since 2011. Under his leadership, the Colts have developed into a consistent playoff contender, making the postseason in six out of eight years. The 2017 season marked a turning point, with the Colts advancing to the postseason for the first time during Gaspar’s tenure, finishing 8-5-7 overall and earning a spot in the CCCAA Regional Playoffs.

Since that breakthrough season, the Colts have made five additional playoff appearances, including reaching the second round in 2019, 2022, and 2023, and advancing to the CCCAA Final Four in 2024. Over that seven-year stretch, the program has recorded several strong seasons, including a 14-4-7 overall record in 2024 and an 11-4-3 campaign in 2018. Coach Gaspar’s teams have consistently competed near the top of the Coast Conference, earning multiple top-five finishes.

Coach Gaspar brings extensive experience to his role, having previously led two successful high school soccer programs and accumulated valuable club soccer experience throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. He holds a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology with a focus on Team and Sport Management from Saint Mary’s College of California and possesses a US Soccer Federation “D” license. Before becoming the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Cañada College at just 24 years old, he served as an assistant coach under Joe Silveira at Evergreen Valley College in San Jose.

Coach Gaspar lives in San Jose with his wife, Tamra, and their daughters, Dani and Stevie.
