REDWOOD CITY – Josh Ramos provided all the offense Cañada College would need by scoring both goals in a 2-1 Coast Conference victory over visiting De Anza College on Friday.
The Colts unbeaten streak is now at 10 games with seven wins and three ties during the impressive run. Cañada sits on top of the Coast Conference North Division standings at 5-0-3 and is 8-1-5 overall.
On Friday, De Anza went out in front first, getting a goal in the 21st minute. But Ramos knocked in the equalizer moments later on a penalty-kick goal in the 24th minute. And in the 38th, Ramos tallied what proved to be the game-winner thanks to the assist from Francesco Lipparoni.
Luis Evangelista totaled four saves in earning the win in goal for the Colts.
Friday's victory capped a 2-0 week for the Colts. On Tuesday, Cañada cruised to a 4-0 rout at City College of San Francisco. Diego Ruiz has two goals with Altai Ordubadi and Mikel Gonzalez also scoring. Evangelista came up with four saves to secure the Colts' fifth shutout of the season.
Cañada will look to keep the momentum going on Tuesday (Oct. 28) when the Colts host Skyline College in a 4 p.m. Coast Conference North Division game.
