Colts close out solid season with second-round playoff loss; Skaggs, Moore earn all-conference honors
SANTA ROSA – A solid 2025-26 Cañada College men's basketball season came to an end with the No. 18-seeded Colts' 88-66 second-round Northern California Regional Playoffs loss at No. 2 Santa Rosa Junior College on Saturday night.
Shawn Acosta led Cañada with 18 points while Darius Jackson and Mateo Jackson both scored 15 points. Jake Sakggs grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds to go along with 7 points and Justin Moore also went for 7 points.
The Colts made their second postseason appearance over the past three seasons and ended with a 13-17 overall record.
2025-26 ALL-COAST CONFERENCE NORTH DIVISION AWARDS
Following the close of the regular season, both sophomores Jake Skaggs and Justin Moore received All-Coast Conference North Division postseason honors.
Skaggs (Los Altos HS) was named first-team all-conference for the second year in a row. He led the Colts in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks. He finished among the top-10 in the conference in points, rebounds, assists, free throw percentage, and blocks. Skaggs finished the season with 19 double-doubles and made his presence known on both ends of the court.
Moore (Menlo-Atherton HS) was named to the All-Coast Conference North Division Honorable Mention team. He scored in double figures in 20 games this season, including four games of over 20 points. Moore finished second on the team in scoring and had the highest three-point percentage for the Colts.
