Colts get No. 18 seed for NorCal Playoffs, face No. 15 Marin
The 2025-26 season for the Cañada College men's basketball team will continue into the postseason. On Sunday, the Colts were named the No. 18 seed for the upcoming Northern California Regional Playoffs.
Cañada will travel to No. 15-seed College of Marin for a first-round game on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m.
Ticket prices for the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) postseason game at Marin are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old. Tickets are available at the door and are cash only.
The Colts, led by head coach Eddy Harris, enter the playoffs with a 12-16 overall record and finished fourth in the Coast Conference North Division at 6-8. Cañada won three of its final four games during a late postseason push to secure the playoff bid.
Cañada returns to the playoffs after a one-year absence. During the 2018-19 season, the Colts advanced to the regional finals and were a victory short of a trip to the state championships.
No. 15 Marin wrapped up its regular season with a 19-9 overall record and finished second in the Bay Valley Conference at 10-6. Cañada and Marin will be meeting for the second time this season. On Dec. 6, the Colts cruised to a 71-60 victory over the Mariners at home.
The winner of Wednesday's match up will move on to a second-round game at No. 2 Santa Rosa Junior College (24-4) on Saturday. Three wins are needed by the Colts to advance to the 3C2A State Championships on March 13-15 at College of the Sequoias in Visalia.
