Colts edge Skyline 67-65 at home
REDWOOD CITY — The Cañada College men's basketball team earned a hard-fought 67-65 win over Skyline College on Wednesday night in a Coast Conference North Division contest at home.
Cañada led 34-33 at halftime and maintained its slim edge throughout the second half, outscoring the Trojans 33-32 after the break to seal the narrow two-point victory.
Justin Moore scored a team-high 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting to lead the Colts, while Jake Skaggs added 13 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two blocks. Shawn Acosta contributed 13 points off the bench, and Darius Jackson finished with 10 points and four assists.
Omer Sukur was dominant on the boards, pulling down a game-high 16 rebounds to go along with nine points as Cañada outrebounded Skyline by a 45-25 margin.
The win was the second straight for the Colts as they improved to 8-11 overall and 2-3 in the Coast Conference North Division. Cañada is back in action on Friday (Jan. 230 at Ohlone College.
