REDDING — Cañada College rode a seven-inning scoreless performance from Ethan Tondag and a 14-hit offensive outburst to a 12-3 victory over Shasta College on Saturday in the finale of a three-game non-conference series.
The Colts seized control early and never let up, scoring three runs in the second inning and adding two more in the third to build a 5-0 cushion. Cañada stretched the margin to double digits with a five-run surge across the fourth and fifth innings, capitalizing on timely extra-base hits and aggressive baserunning.
Justin Gladfelter paced the Colts at the plate, going 4 for 6 with three runs scored and an RBI. Cole Leschak added two hits, including a double, and drove in a run, while Justin Sechler delivered a key two-run double during Cañada's middle-inning rally. Stone Daniel-Savage contributed two hits and two RBIs as part of the balanced attack.
Tondag (W) was dominant through seven innings, scattering seven hits while keeping the Knights off the scoreboard. He did not allow a run and kept Shasta from mounting any sustained threat before turning the game over to the bullpen.
After a slow start to the 2026 season, the Colts improved to 5-6 overall with Saturday's win. Cañada is back in action on Wednesday (Feb. 17) at Laney College.
